N&K CPAs, Inc. offers training curriculums designed to help our staff to advance their technical knowledge, develop as professionals, and succeed as individuals. Our firm is dedicated to providing the resources necessary for high quality, ongoing professional development.
N&K is dedicated to providing the resources necessary for high quality, ongoing professional development and offers training curriculums designed to help our staff advance their technical knowledge, develop as professionals, and succeed as individuals. Our in-house training programs are housed under the N&K Academy (Academy) which supports over 1,000 training programs. The Academy is a combination of in-house, outside, and web-based training programs which cover not only technical development topics but personal development skills as well. Topics such as Leadership, Etiquette, Writing, Telephone Skills, Client Servicing, Supervision, Public Speaking and much more are presented by consultants and experienced staff members and managers. These personnel develop and present seminars on relevant topics to assist team members in staying abreast of the professional literature and to assist in their personal development. Outside training gives personnel the opportunity to attend courses and seminars sponsored by the American Institute of CPAs, the Hawaii Society of CPAs, and other professional organizations. Web-based training supplements the in-house training for the staff to maintain their professional competence.
Coaching and Mentoring
N&K has both a coaching and mentoring program for personnel. Coaching is job knowledge-focused and aims to guide an individual’s development to achieve optimal job-related performance results. Mentoring is more career-focused and seeks to challenge individuals to think and do for themselves and grow in their capabilities.
All new staff members are paired with an experienced staff for their first few months. The N&K “buddy” is a resource to the new staff member, providing support, advice, guidance, and encouragement.
