N&K joins the Hawaii Food Industry Association

N&K CPAs has joined the Hawaii Food Industry Association (HFIA) to better serve its clients in the food and beverage industry. The HFIA is a trade organization established in 1972 whose regular membership includes food retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and brokers. Other firms, like N&K, who through business are associated with the food industry in some way, can also join the association as Associate Members.

The main goal of the HFIA is to promote and support the interests of Hawaii’s food and beverage retailers and suppliers .The Association serves as a liaison between the food industry and our government and keeps its members informed of government activities that affect Hawaii’s food industry. HFIA also has many social activities for its members and supports several community programs.

N&K Wins National Recognition

N&K CPAs, Inc. was recently named as one of the 2012 Best Accounting Firms to Work for. This annual list was created by Accounting Today and Best Companies Group to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in the accounting industry in the United States.

The Best Accounting Firms to Work for list is made up of a total of 100 companies from across the nation, split into three groups: 47 small-sized companies (15-49 employees), 45 medium-sized companies (50-249 employees) and 8 large-sized companies (more than 250 employees). N&K was ranked 16^th out of 45 in the medium category.

Alton Miyashiro Receives Hall of Honor Award

Managing Principal Alton Miyashiro recently received an award from the UH Manoa Shidler College of Business at the 2012 Hall of Honor Awards.  Each year, the college recognizes UH alumni who have distinguished themselves through their profession, their community and commitment to higher education.

Alton was one of four recipients who received this distinguished award.
